Samsung Gear Live; Another Gear, now running Android Wear

Samsung has followed up its Tizen-based Galaxy Gear 2 with the Android Wear-powered Gear Live.

The device is typically Samsung – with a watch strap that uses a 22mm mounting. It is theoretically changeable, although due to the shaped piece of metal where the watch face meets the strap, third-party replacements do look a bit odd. Performance and specs are mostly identical to the G Watch, with the Gear Live adding a heart rate monitor at the expense of battery capacity.

A slightly sharper Super AMOLED screen that's great indoors, is barely readable in sunlight. The biggest problem with the Gear Live is charging it – there’s no dock, instead a clip-on adaptor that goes on the back of the watch for a micro USB cable to attach to.
